Pace Digitek commissions 2.5 GWh BESS manufacturing line

Pace Digitek Limited says its subsidiary Lineage Power Private Limited has commissioned an additional 2,500 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing line.

The company reports that commissioning the new line has doubled its total installed BESS manufacturing capacity from 2,500 MWh to 5,000 MWh.

Pace Digitek also states that over the past year it has manufactured more than 300 utility-scale BESS containers, with a combined battery energy storage capacity of around 1,500 MWh.

The update is focused on BESS manufacturing capacity rather than nuclear equipment or nuclear fuel-cycle supply chain activity.

NPCIL qualification for welding consumables supplier

GEE Ltd, a manufacturer of welding consumables and welding solutions, said it has received approval from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL). The company said the approval enables it to participate in India’s highly regulated nuclear power supply chain.

According to GEE, NPCIL’s stringent technical, quality and safety standards place it among a select group of qualified domestic suppliers, which it described as a barrier to entry against low-cost competition.

Capacity expansion backdrop

GEE linked the approval to plans for expanding India’s nuclear power capacity from 8.8 GW to 22.5 GW by 2031 and 100 GW by 2047.

The company said nuclear projects typically involve large capital investments, milestone-based payments and multi-year execution cycles, which it expects to support longer-term revenue visibility.

What GEE plans to supply

GEE said it will support India’s nuclear power programme by supplying specialised welding consumables and engineering solutions for critical nuclear power applications.

NuScale hires Paragon Energy Solutions for HIPS-based I&C final design work

Contract scope tied to the 77-MWe module

Paragon Energy Solutions, a Mirion Technologies company, has won a contract from NuScale Power to complete the final design development of Paragon’s Highly Integrated Protection System (HIPS) for use with the 77-MWe NuScale Power Module.

The module is described as deployable with a single control room supporting as many as 12 modules.

Under the contract, Paragon is to complete the nonrecurring engineering and design deliverables for three instrumentation and control systems built on the HIPS platform: the module protection system, the safety display and indication system, and the plant protection system.
